Q1: Do I need to have Cable TV in order to get Cable Internet? A: No. But there will be additional charge for installation. Q2: What are the minimum requirements for Cable Internet? A: Any Pentium class or equivalent 200 Mhz CPU, 64 Megs of ram, CD-ROM drive, Network card and Windows 95 or MAC OS.
Q3: Do I need to install any software to connect? A: No connection software is required.
Q4: Can I use a router, hub or switch? A: Routers, hubs and switches are permitted. Q5: Is my IP address static or DHCP? A: Your IP address is DHCP assigned.
Q6: Can I get a static IP Address? A: You must upgrade to a Commercial Cable package in order to get a static IP address.

A: You must upgrade to a Commercial Cable package in order to run any type of server.
Q9: Can I move the cable modem to another location in my home? A: A service call will have to be issued if you move your cable modem to another location in your home. Please contact Vianet Technical Support at 1-800-788-0363 for more details.
Q10: Can I purchase additional email accounts? A: Yes. Additional email addresses can be purchased for $2.00 per month.
Q11: Does Cable Internet account include any dial-up access? A: Dial-up access will be provided free of charge if your Cable connection fails. Dial-up access will remain active until the Cable connection is repaired. A2: Cable customers can also purchase a dial-up account for $5.00 per month for 10 hours of access. Overtime will be billed at $1.00 per hour.
